OPEN HEART GAMING · COMMUNITY STANDING ORDERS

RULES FOR NOW

Simple rules.
Good people. Good games.

We are strictly a gaming community for fun. The goal is to create an environment where people can enjoy themselves, be themselves, and play together without unnecessary drama.

THE STANDARD

Everyone is welcome here.

This is a place for people to game, make friends, build teams, and enjoy milsim together. A basic set of rules is necessary to protect that environment. That is basically it.

01

Keep politics out of the community

No politics. Open Heart Gaming exists for gaming, teamwork, friendship, and milsim. Political arguments and political campaigning do not belong in our community spaces.

02

No religious or nationality debates

Do not turn community spaces into debates about religion, nationality, ethnicity, or similar identity topics. Members come from different backgrounds and are here to play together.

03

No outright discrimination or bigotry

Outright discrimination or bigotry, including but not limited to racism or sexism, will not be allowed.

04

Use common sense

There is a fine line between jokes, getting passionate in the heat of the moment in game, and being outright hateful or discriminatory. It is common sense. Treat people like people and do not use the community as an excuse to target or demean others.

OHG

THE LINE IN THE SAND

Have fun. Be yourself. Do not be hateful.

People joke. People get competitive. People get passionate during games. We are not interested in policing every imperfect sentence. We are interested in stopping behavior that is clearly hateful, discriminatory, or designed to make other members feel unwelcome.

REPORT RULE BREAKING

Help us protect the community.

Send Community Administration the player name, incident details, time, location, and any supporting evidence.

01

Conduct

  1. 1.1

Racism, sexism, ableism, slurs, harassment, bullying, threats, targeted abuse, and personal attacks are prohibited.

  2. 1.2

Do not use names, chat, voice, squad names, or actions to impersonate staff or OHG members, promote hate, or deliberately disrupt the server.

02

Communication and leadership

  1. 2.1

English is the supported operational language for squad and command coordination.

  2. 2.2

A microphone is not required for every player. Squad Leaders and Commanders must have a working microphone and communicate in leadership channels.

  3. 2.3

Keep communications useful. Mic spam, soundboards, repeated chat spam, and deliberately blocking team communications are prohibited.

  4. 2.4

While games can get competitive and people can be passionate, excessive arguing in voice chat is not allowed.

03

Squads, roles, and teamwork

  1. 3.1

When the server has more than 50 players, join or create a squad within five minutes. The server may warn and then kick players who remain unassigned. This automatic kick is disabled at 50 players or fewer.

  2. 3.2

Do not create a squad unless you intend to lead it. Do not create a squad only to take a kit, pass leadership without agreement, or abandon the Squad Leader role. [Squad baiting.]

  3. 3.3

New players are welcome. Give clear, constructive directions and allow reasonable mistakes while people learn.

04

Objectives and team assets

  1. 4.1

Support active objectives and your team. Deliberate sabotage, intentional refusal to participate, or actions intended to make your team lose are prohibited.

  2. 4.2

Do not intentionally teamkill, grief, destroy friendly assets, block friendly movement, or misuse construction and ammunition.

  3. 4.3

Do not intentionally waste vehicles, aircraft, commander assets, radios, or logistics. Recover or report abandoned assets when practical.

  4. 4.4

Do not camp or attack protected main base areas or exits unless the current objective is within or very near to the 400 m main protection zone. A player who clearly intends to main camp may be considered in violation of this rule even if they are positioned outside the 400 m zone.

05

Vehicles and claims

  1. 5.1

Squads with the most correct name claim have priority to a vehicle over other squads. In the case of two or more equally correct name claims, vehicles are assigned first come, first served.

  2. 5.2

Do not solo crewman required vehicles.

  3. 5.3

Do not sit at main for more than 2 minutes as a solo crewman in a crewman required vehicle unless there are no other squad claims or the other crewman is waiting to respawn.

  4. 5.4

You must know how to fly helicopters before taking them out. Asset wasting is not allowed.

06

Fair play and game integrity

  1. 6.1

Cheating in any way is not allowed; this includes but is not limited to using external programs to gain unfair advantages.

  2. 6.2

    Ban evasion is prohibited.

  3. 6.3

"Ghosting" is against the rules. This refers to any action where a player gains outside knowledge about the other team's positions, assets, plans, etc. either by switching teams to gather information, receiving information from friends or group chats, or stream sniping.

  4. 6.3d

All streamers should use a minimum 5 minute stream delay to prevent ghosting.

07

Seeding

  1. 7.1

During seeding, fight over the active seeding objectives. Do not rush main or destroy radios outside the active area.

  2. 7.2

Seed rules become active when there are less than 50 players in the server.

  3. 7.3

Seeding ends automatically when the server recovers population.

08

Reports, appeals, and complaints

  1. 8.1

Report players at openheartgaming.com/report-player with the player name, time, server, details, and any available evidence.

  2. 8.2

Appeal an OHG game ban by joining openheartgaming.com/discord and opening a Community Administration ticket.

  3. 8.3

Do not retaliate against reporters in any way. Clearly false reports are dealt with by server administration appropriately.

BAN APPEALS

OHG bans may be appealed through a Community Administration ticket in our Discord.

INDEPENDENT OFFWORLD REPORTING

Report admin or server abuse to Offworld Industries.

If you believe an Open Heart Gaming Squad administrator or server has violated Offworld Industries hosting policies or the Squad Code of Conduct, you may report the matter directly to Offworld. This process is independent from OHG player reports and ban appeals.

Your right to report: OWI policy states that making, or indicating an intent to make, a report to Offworld is not a valid reason for a ban.

What to include with your report
  • The server name
  • Evidence such as video, audio, or screenshots
  • The date and time of the incident
  • Your name, contact information requested by OWI, and 64-bit Steam ID

Use the #server-reports channel in the official Offworld Hosting Discord and follow the instructions posted there.
